Use | 4-iodobenzylamine hydrochloride is an amine derivative and can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. |
preparation | to 4-iodobenzamide (11g, 45 mmol) in THF (50 mL) to the suspension was added BH3-THF (1m, 22.5 mL, 22.5 mmol). The resulting solution was heated at reflux overnight. The reaction was cooled in an ice bath and MeOH-HCl(60ml) was slowly added dropwise. The resulting precipitate was filtered and dried to obtain 4-iodobenzylamine hydrochloride. White solid, yield 10.8g,88%. |
